01Who this policy covers

This policy explains how FIN IP Group ("FIN IP Group", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through finipgroup.com. FIN IP Group is based at 150 Isabella St, Suite 810, Ottawa, ON K1S 1V7, Canada, and works with clients internationally.

Information you share with us under a signed engagement or confidentiality agreement is governed by that agreement. Where this policy and a signed agreement differ, the signed agreement applies.

02Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

• Information you give us. When you submit the inquiry form, you provide your name, work email, company or firm, and optionally your phone number and organization type, along with the details you choose to share about your request, such as service type, portfolio size, technology area, timeline, and any message.
• Technical information. Our hosting infrastructure records standard server data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used to operate and secure the site.

03How we use your information

We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, scope the work you are asking about, and communicate with you about a potential or existing engagement.

We also use aggregate, non-identifying information to understand which services visitors are looking for and to improve the site.

04What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
• We do not use the details of your inquiry for advertising, and we do not run advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
• We do not send marketing email to people who have only submitted an inquiry, unless they ask us to.

We work with sensitive commercial information as a matter of course. Inquiries are treated as confidential and shared internally only with the people who need to see them to respond.

We ask that you do not send privileged, trade-secret, or export-controlled material through the website form. If your inquiry involves information of that kind, tell us and we will arrange a confidentiality agreement and a secure channel first.

We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond and, where an engagement follows, for as long as required by our professional, contractual, tax, and legal obligations. Inquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted once they are no longer relevant.

09Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to withdraw consent to our use of it. Canadian visitors have these rights under PIPEDA; visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have equivalent rights under the GDPR.

10Security
